To empower women to take a more pro-active role in their own care; ante-natally, during the
birth, and post-natally resulting in a more positive experience.
Self-help is encouraged by promoting natural principles of breathing, nutrition, exercise and
relaxation, in order to achieve a balanced life-style, incorporating healthy habits, into the
daily routine of life.
Optimal fetal positioning is a focal point from 36 weeks, together with massage in labour
techniques; both working towards a more natural approach to birth.
The best start in life for a baby is breast feeding. I actively promote breast feeding with
up-to-date research information which highlights benefits to both the mother and the baby.
The importance of post-natal care can sometimes be overlooked. I encourage appropriate, good nutrition
to rebuild stamina, especially whilst breast feeding. Post birth yoga can be performed with the
baby, to have fun and to gently regain abdominal and pelvic suppleness.
